Typhoon

As everybody knows, typhoon is a tropical cyclone that develops between 180 degrees and meridian 100 degrees east of Greenwich in the Northern Hemisphere and which produces sustained hurricane-force winds at least 119 km/h, or known as 74 mph. This region is referred to as the Northwestern Pacific Basin, accounting for almost one third of the world's tropical cyclones. Within most of the northwestern Pacific, there are no official typhoon seasons as tropical cyclones form throughout the year. Like any tropical cyclone, there are several main requirements for typhoon creation and development. It must be in sufficiently warm sea surface temperatures, atmospheric instability, high humidity in the lower-to-middle levels of the troposphere, have enough Coriolis effect to develop a low pressure centre, a pre-existing low level focus or disturbance, and a low vertical wind shear. Notwithstanding of the majority of storms form between June and November, a few storms may occur between December and May (although tropical cyclone formation is very rare during that time). On average, the northwestern Pacific features the most numerous and intense tropical cyclones globally. My aim for writing this is to create public awareness about typhoon, as I recently read 2 news about typhoon in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This typhoon can be also called as Ragasa typhoon. More crucially, typhoon results in the flood in one of the city in Taiwan, Hua Lien. For safety preparation before typhoon, a family plan is needed to communicate during a storm. Know own risks and routes to get to your evacuation destination. Build an emergency kit. Follow official orders during evacuation for typhoon. Leave quickly. Stay informed. Thank you.
