Drugs are chemical substances other than a nutrient or a prominent dietary ingredient, which, when administered to a living organism, produces a biological effect. Consumption of drugs can be via inhalation, injection, smoking, ingestion, absorption through a patch on the skin, suppository, or dissolution under the tongue. A pharmaceutical drug, also called a mediation or medicine, is a chemical substance used to treat, cure, refrain or diagnose a disease or to promote well-being. Traditionally drugs were obtained via extraction from medicinal plants, but more recently also by organic synthesis. Pharmaceutical drugs may be used for a limited duration, or on a regular basis for chronic disorders. There are many types of drugs, such as stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anxiolytics. There are a lot of pros and cons about drugs. For pros, drugs are used for medication purposes. In the other hands, when abuse, they are harmful for health. For students, they neglect their studies. They are also not filial to their families too due to drugs. Their own reputation also destroyed. To prevent this from happening, public awareness campaigns about drugs should be conducted. Prescription from doctors are required before taking any pharmaceutical drugs. Governments should enforce laws for those who intervene with drugs abuse or smuggling. Better to be safe than sorry. No drugs, we are in peace.
