Lymphoma

Lymphoma is a type of cancer that embarks in the lymphatic system, which is the various lymph glands around the body, when abnormal white blood cells grow. This illness is the 6th most common form of cancer overall, which excluding non-melanoma skin cancer. There are two main types of lymphoma, which spread and are treated differently, which are non-Hodgkin lymphoma (which accounts for about 90% of lymphomas), and Hodgkin lymphoma (which has a characteristic appearance in biopsies). There are around 40 subtypes of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and they vary in how fast they grow and spread, and how sick people feel. They are not all treated the same. I write this as I saw a shocking, and scary news saying a South Korean model, also a TV personality, Kim Sung Chan deceased due to this sickness. The symptoms of lymphoma include unexplained fever, swelling of one or more lymph glands such as in the neck or armpits, swollen abdomen, abnormal sweating, especially at night, fatigue, loss of appetite, bruising or bleeding easily, weight loss, frequent infections, cough, chest pain or breathing complications, and rash or itching. The causes of lymphoma are as shown here: Exposure to radiation and certain types of chemicals can put some people at higher risk. Benzene and some agricultural chemicals have been implicated; people exposed in the workplace, who can be at highest risk, should follow occupational health guidelines to minimize exposure. For people whose immune system is suppressed, exposure to viruses such as the Epstein-Barr virus or HIV can also be at increased risk of lymphoma. To prevent lymphoma, treatments like staging, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy(also known as radiotherapy) are needed. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Thank you.
