Psychological Abuse, also called as emotional abuse, or mental abuse, is a form of abuse characterized by a person knowingly or intentionally exposing another person to a behavior that results in psychological trauma, including anxiety, chronic depression, clinical depression or post-traumatic stress disorder amongst other psychological reactions. It is often associated with situations of controlling behavior in abusive relationships, and may include bullying, gaslighting, abuse in the workplace, amongst other behaviors that may cause an individual to feel unsafe. To halt psychological abuse, familiarize own self with what constitutes psychological abuse. Recognize the qualities of a healthy relationship. Know that it is okay not to be okay. Understand that psychological abuse is a cycle. Reach out to family and friends. Seek the guidance of a professional. Stand up for own self. Be confident. Thank you.
