Child Abuse/Torture

 


Child abuse, also known as child torture, is physical, sexual, emotional and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child, especially by a parent or a caregiver. Child abuse may comprise of any act or failure to act by a parent or a caregiver that gives consequences in actual or functional wrongful harm to a child and can happen in a child's home, or in organizations, schools, or communities the child communicates with. Diverse jurisdictions have diverse requirements for mandatory reporting and have developed diverse definitions of what constitutes child abuse, and therefore have diverse criteria to remove children from their families or to prosecute a criminal charge. The factors of child abuse include domestic violence and other marital conflicts, or single parenting, and more. To obstruct child abuse, open communication is needed so children feel safe reporting issues. Parental support via education and access to resources is also needed. Laws to protect children should be enforced. Altogether, let's battle against child abuse, and hope that the "enemy", child abuse will be defeated in the fight.......................
